What should I download?
-
IDXSetupBundle.zip
- This is a bundle of
all the latest required
components for IDX. None
of the other components
are required if this is
downloaded. The zip file
can be extracted or the
IDX Setup can be run
from the IDXSetup
directory inside the zip
file.
-
Dotnetfx.zip -
Download this zip file
if you do not currently
have the .NET Framework
installed. In
conjunction with this
download, please install
the IDXSetup.exe.
-
MDAC.zip - This
download will install
MDAC, essential for the
running of IDX. If you
already have MDAC V 2.7
or higher, you will not
require this download.
Note that Windows XP and
Server 2003 come
preinstalled with these
MDAC components
-
MSDE.zip - This
download will install a
named instance of MSDE (IDXMSDE)
which is essential for
the running of IDX. If
you already have this
named instance, you will
not require this
download.

IDXAddin.zip -
Contains the IDX Excel
Add-in download, which
provides an IDX Add-in
to Excel. This is a
separate installation.

IDXHelp.zip - The
latest standalone
version (Windows HTML
Help) of the IDX Help
Documentation
-
IDXTraining.zip -
The IDX Training
materials and getting
started guides
- Templates.zip
- A collection of commonly
used IDX configuration
templates.
Install Instructions:
-
Download the required
files (See "What should
I download?" section
above)

Create an IDXSetup
directory, and unzip the
above files into
IDXSetup, see below:
-
Run the IDX.exe/IDXNoDotNet.exe and follow the
on-screen instructions.
-
Once you have installed IDX, to install the IDX
Excel Add-in, run the setup.exe and follow the
on-screen instructions.

Obtain the IDX Software and Maintenance
License keys from
IDXOnline. Timed trial
licenses (30-60 days) are available free of
charge.
Troubleshooting:
Should you experience any problems with the
installation, please refer below to view
some common installation mistakes.

- Setup could not find the
file MDAC_Typ.exe in the
installation directory\MDAC\.
Please ensure that this file
is in the correct location
and press Retry.
Solution
This
error
indicates
that MDAC
could not be
installed,
due to
incorrect
directory
structure.
Please
click here
and scroll
to "Install
Instructions"
to ensure
that your
directory
structure is
correct.
- Setup could not find the
file Setup.exe in the
installation directory\MSDE\.
Please ensure that this file
is in the correct location
and press Retry.
Solution
This
error
indicates
that MSDE
could not be
installed,
due to
incorrect
directory
structure.
Please
click here
and scroll
to "Install
Instructions"
to ensure
that your
directory
structure is
correct.
- When re-installing your
database you may encounter
the following error: ErrNum:
-2147217900. Err Desc:
Cannot create file
'C:\Program Files\Microsoft
SQL Server\MSSQL$IDXMSDE\Data\idxrtdb.mdf'
because it already exists.
Solution
This
error
indicates
that the SQL
Server files
which are
being
created
already
exist.
Please
browse to
the
following
directory
C:\Program
Files\Microsoft
SQL Server\MSSQL$IDXMSDE\Data
and delete
the
following
files:
idxrtdb.mdf,
idxrtdb_log.LDF,
idxrtdb_test.mdf,
idxrtdb_test_log.LDF.
Then resume
with your
database
re-install.
