The CSM PROFIBUS Monitor interface allows for single and multi-point monitoring of PROFIBUS industrial networks. Currently, there are a number of analysis tools for PROFIBUS, but all are essentially devices that are used for short-term diagnostics or provide only a limited amount of diagnostic information. In these cases, historical data as well as simple, procedural diagnostic information is not readily available to those bearing the responsibility of the healthy operation of the network. The PROFIBUS module takes a unique approach. By integrating the monitoring solution with IDXOnline’s robust IDX real-time middleware product, it becomes possible to monitor, log and generate alerts based on the condition of one or more monitor networks and/or segments. In addition, this monitoring can be performed on-site, directly into the operator SCADA or remotely at head-office or even via remote monitoring service providers.
